Kenny Casanova, ghostwriter of Kamala Speaks

On top of writing countless scripts, storylines and wrestling programs for various professional wrestling promotions in the northeast since 1994, in 2014, Kenny penned his first published work as a ghostwriter. Kamala Speaks is the official autobiography of James “Kamala” Harris, a retired WWE wrestler who lost both legs to diabetes.

Kenny completely organized and launched a Kickstarter campaign by himself to write and print the book from interviews he conducted with Harris and many other top WWE wrestlers for 8 months. (To see the Kickstarter campaign, click here: Kamala Kickstarter.) In the promotion phase, Kenny wrote press releases for countless sports web sites and magazines.  Kenny also wrote scripts, topic lists and produced other behind-the-scenes writing pieces for big name wrestler podcast interviews including Steve Austin and Roddy Piper.

In the end, the book was fully funded, surpassing its goal to help offset medical costs for a man who could no longer earn a living. For more info, see

Finally in 2002, while also acting as a wrestling announcer/personality he became an Alternative Education teacher / Integrated English Instructor for us at Capital Region Career & Technical School, for both Albany & Schoharie, NY campuses. He piloted and helped create TCP (Technical Communication & Portfolio), an integrated English program back in 2002. This program let vocational students gain English credit in their trade classes like Auto, Culinary, and Carpentry classes via use of the creating of a masterwork portfolio. He  still teaches it today, as the longest running integrated English teacher in his school’s system.

RADIO WRITING EXPERIENCE-  From 1989-1991, Kenny’s first radio show was for WCHD, Hudson Valley Community College.  There he got his DJ chops learning to cut & scratch on an combination alternative rock & rap show. Early to mid-90s, he wrote some bits and became an in-studio character actor for Nikki Neal’s “Nik at Night Show” on Q104, providing voice overs as a bunch of goofy characters and impersonations, most famously known for his spot-on Grape Ape impersonation. He later did the same for the internationally-syndicated ZRock Morning Show with Matt “Sharkmann” Hobley.
